My Approach
In my practice, I combine somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and pre- and perinatal psychology to offer a holistic approach to healing. Each session is tailored to align body, mind, and spirit, addressing trauma on multiple levels. By treating the whole person—mind, body, emotions, spirit, and environment—holistic psychotherapy integrates various modalities like somatic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and spiritual practices to support deep and comprehensive healing.
Somatic Psychotherapy
Somatic psychotherapy is a holistic approach that integrates the body and mind in the therapeutic process. Unlike traditional talk therapy, somatic therapy recognizes that trauma and emotional pain are often stored in the body. By focusing on bodily sensations, movements, and the nervous system, this approach helps individuals release deep-rooted emotions and trauma that may be beyond conscious awareness. Somatic psychotherapy encourages healing through body-based practices, allowing clients to reconnect with their inner selves, process unresolved trauma, and foster a greater sense of emotional and physical well-being.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative therapeutic approach that views the mind as made up of distinct “parts,” each with its own emotions, beliefs, and roles. These parts can include wounded or vulnerable aspects of ourselves, protective or defensive parts, and a core Self that holds wisdom and compassion. IFS helps individuals understand and heal the relationships between their parts, fostering internal harmony and self-compassion. By working with these inner parts, clients can heal from trauma, reduce inner conflict, and restore balance, leading to a deeper sense of self-awareness and emotional well-being.
Pre- and Perinatal Psychology
Pre- and perinatal psychology explores how experiences from conception, through pregnancy, and early infancy shape our emotional, psychological, and physical development. This field recognizes that a baby’s earliest experiences—including those in the womb—can have a profound impact on attachment, bonding, and emotional regulation later in life. By addressing the imprints of these early experiences, individuals can heal deep-rooted patterns of trauma, stress, and disconnection that may have originated before birth. Through therapeutic approaches that honor the body’s wisdom, pre- and perinatal psychology helps individuals restore a sense of safety and connection to themselves and others.
